Following Kevin’s win in the 55 to 59 Age Group at KONA-World Championships (Thats 4 Ironman Win’s in 4 events, with 3 Course Records), Kevin is back, and after a 14 day break from training and face book, he is refreshed and looking forward to number 5 for the year at Busselton W.A Australia on Dec 7.
A big thank you to everyone for their congrats. As he said in his Facebook last post, a very tough day but also the most enjoyable Hawaii Ironman he has done.
The support from Lakers Triathlon Club in South Australia, and seeing so many Lakers racing (17-Got to be a record for any club) made it a day to remember. Having my daughter, Justine, brother Grant and partner Carol’s surprise visit to watch was amazing. Hawaii Ironman is such a high and to come back and refocus is tough, but with www.iron5for55, being my main focus, it will make it easier to get back into training.
The fundraising for Hawaii was just short of $5,000. So far, the total raised for the 4 Ironman is $23,900. The $55,000 target might be out of reach, 5 course records is not possible, but 5 wins is still achievable and I am stoked at what I have achieved so far and appreciate everyone’s support.
